Charles A. Wood, Jr. has served as Vice President for University Advancement at Radford University since 1994. He directs and manages the departments of Alumni Affairs, Development, Public Relations, Radio/Television and Communication Services, and the Business Assistance Center/Business Technology Park. He is responsible for all phases of University Advancement including annual fund, corporate foundation relations, alumni relations, charitable estate planning, public relations, graphic design, publications, and prospect research. He is also Executive Director of the RU Foundation and serves as a member of the Board of Directors where he directs and manages RU initiatives such as outreach, public service, public relations and communication. Prior to 1994 he served as Executive Assistant to the President at RU from 1974 to 1994. Mr. Wood graduated cum laude from Plymouth State College in 1972 with a B.S. in Biology and in 1973 with a Masters degree in Education Administration. He is on the Board of Directors at Carilion Saint Albans Psychiatric Hospital, Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, and SunTrust Bank. He has served as educational consultant to United States Department of State, Office of Overseas Schools in Costa Rica, Mexico and Dominican Republic. |
