During the past three years, Mr. Gary has served as Vice President for Workforce Development at Northern Virginia Community College , the nation's second largest community college system, and Virginia 's largest community college system. In this capacity, Vice President Gary oversees and coordinates the College's Workforce Development and Continuing Education organization with revenues in excess of $10 million. Reporting to the President, he provides strategic, college-wide leadership for the development and delivery of workforce training and development programs to government, business and industry clients. Before joining Northern Virginia Community College , William served for 8 years as Vice President of Operations for NavCom Systems, Inc., aviation and manufacturing company producing telecommunications, air traffic control systems, cargo handling systems and related services for the Federal Aviation Administration, and fixed base operations management. The company also operated a part 122 and part 135 operation to include air charter, fixed base operation, and aircraft maintenance.
Prior to his employment at NavCom, William was employed by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and served for 15 years as Director of Human Resources and Director of Legislative Affairs, respectively. Prior to his employment with CSC, he served as Director of Personnel at Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.
William ary is a member of the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board (NVWIB) and serves as chair of the Program Planning and Development Committee; member of the Superintendent's Business/Industry Advisory Council, Fairfax County Public Schools; member of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Education Subcommittee; member of the Northern Virginia Tech Council Workforce Development Committee. In January 2003, he was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Prince William Health System, and in July 2003, appointed to the Board of Advisors at the Chesapeake Company.
