Virginia Economic Bridge, Inc.'s Community Audit magnifies your community's needs.

By taking a closer look at your community, the Community Audit provides information to act as a strategic planning manual, marketing and training package, thus creating a toolbox for each community. As a strategic research tool, the audit provides outcomes including, but not limited to:

  • A forecast of economic and workforce climate
  • Determination of the economic growth sectors of area
  • Recognition of business needs
  • Recognition of training needs
  • Identification of the gap between the needs of job seekers, business and area training providers

This particular process can be used in any community, at any level, whether local or regional.

Findings of the NR/MR Community Audit!

In 2002, the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Investment Board(WIB) of Virginia's WIB Area II contracted with Virginia Economic Bridge, Inc. to perform a 12-month needs assessment for the region. Utilizing economic, workforce and community analyses, a Community Audit was developed to address the opportunities and challenges existing in the counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth, Washington and Wythe, as well as the cities of Radford, Galax and Bristol.
